Ordering a portrait is simple.
Step 1
1. Select a medium (painting or pencil drawing). If your chosen medium is a painting, please also select a painting surface (canvas board or stretched canvas). Help choosing canvas.
2. Select a size. Please click here for a list of options regarding sizes and prices. If you don't find the size you are looking for or would like a quote in a different currency please contact me.
Step 2
Select the photograph/s on which you would like your portrait based. You can find some advice on choosing a photograph here. It may be possible to combine figures from multiple photographs.
Step 3
Contact me. You may send me your photo/s at this point or wait until I have confirmed your order. I accept photos as either e-mail attachments or original photos by post. Please read my photos guidelines for best results.
Step 4
I will acknowledge receipt of your commission by e-mail (or post if you prefer) and confirm a price. I will also give you a projected completion date. Completion date will depend on how large the portrait is and current workload but a portrait is unlikely to be completed in under 4 weeks. If you have not already done so, you will need to send me your photo/s. A 50% deposit* will be required. Payment may be made by cheque or secure online payment via PayPal.com.
* The 50% deposit is non-refundable once the portrait has been completed to my satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, the deposit will be returned in full only if work has not commenced on the portrait. In the event of cancellation, if work has commenced on the portrait but the portrait is uncompleted then 50% of the deposit (25% of the overall fee) will be returned to the customer and 50% of the deposit (25% of the overall fee) retained by the artist.
Step 5
Once I have finished your portrait, I will e-mail you a scan for your approval with final payment instructions. Once I have received full payment I will post the finished portrait, usually via Royal Mail Special Delivery (UK residents).
